Life

Okie dokie. This week was cool.

Guess what? I'm in a trio right now? Yep. we got the
call that sister Vargas would be joining us for the next week until
transfers. So sister Noel and I set up A third bed and rearranged our
room so we could fit it and picked her up the next morning. Sister
Vargas is really cool. I like her.  She cooks a lot of yummy food and
she is good at making us work out and she is quite motherly if I do
say so myself. Ten bucks says she gets called as a sister trainer
leader this week. TBA.

Not a lot really happened. We got ten baptismal dates. That's a
record. At least in Spanish program so I'm told, so we were excited
about that. It'll probably go down this week since we have to drop
people. Such is the life of a missionary.  I also taught people,
studied, planned, slept, made a cake, got a new scar, cleaned, sister
Noel and I performed our Barbie song to sister Vargas. We've practiced
the whole transfers. We have parts and everything. Get on our level.

Oh so for weekly planning we make personal goals and such like you're
supposed to. . .  Well I'm not very good at personal goals as of late,
but don't worry, one of my personal goals this week is to do my
personal goals. I bet it'll work.

It's the last week of the transfer. Crazy! Quickest transfer of my
mission so far. Sister Noel and I just can't figure out if we are
staying together or not. I hope we do. She's cool. I also hope I stay
in this area. I love it here. The ward is awesome and we have such
cool people. I'll be so sad if I leave.

We are going to go laser tagging today. Booyah. I'm just going to
pretend like I'll get the high score. Then I'll always be a winner.
Winner winner chicken dinner.

Safe to say this is the most boring email I've sent so far? Just don't
fall asleep while your reading it. Could you imagine? Your head would
hit the key board which would blow your computer up from the inside
which would by connection start an electrical fire which would burn
the house down. And that's not a good idea. Especially if you have a
dog. So grab a five hour energy and you should be set.

Okay. Have a good week folks. Love you guys. Church is true. Missions
are awesome!
Oh, one thing I've realized on my mission that because of how limited
the music is, you'll jam to pretty much anything. Yep. I went there.

Temple Trip

Wanna hear something crazy? So because of how transfers line up and
how I need to get home so I can start school/cosmetology and move into
an apartment and stuff, unless they send me home in the middle of a
transfer . . . I might be home right now in a year. Weird right?
Freaking me out. Stop talking about it, okay?

Okay so here is my week

So I had an interview with President Taggart. Probably his favorite
missionary. I'll be surprised if I don't get called as the next AP.
First sister AP ever so that's what's up. Well in reality it went well.
He said I'm good at keeping eye contact so that's that.

Oh also won a contest at our zone activity last week. Voted best pb
and j sandwich maker. I know that might sound sexist but everyone
participated so I can assure you that it was legit. Second time
someone told me I made the best pb and j's since I've been here.
Boom. So pretty much my future is set. Job wise. Who else can put best
pb and j maker on their resume? Plus I keep eye contact. Pretty much
golden.

This week though has been a roller coaster.Thursday was like the
best coolest day ever and we got so many things done and good numbers
and what not and the mission presidents wife came to a lesson with
us. Then the next two days were not good at all and everything just
about fell apart. What's up with that? One of our investigators,
Jaime, was all set and ready to be baptized. Then we heard some rumors
from the ward. Then we found out a few of those rumors were true. Then
we had to delay that poor guys baptism for a few weeks. Then he was
and is still is super sad but is trying to keep going. Bless his little
heart.

Note for all you people in contact with missionaries. Please answer
your phones or at least text back when the missionaries try to contact
you. Makes life happier.

You know what else makes life happier? Kids. So we were talking to the
bishop's son who is seven years old and is named Heleman and we were
asking him questions and this is what went down. (Keep in mind his
voice is super mono tone and he doesn't have facial expressions)
Us: are you going to go on a mission Heleman?
Him: yeah. I'm going to be the smartest, coolest one... Because I know
a lot. ... And my names in the book.
Later
Him: I'm the smartest one in primary.
Later
Him: you know who's in charge?
Us: who?
Him: (pointing to the ceiling for a good five seconds) God.

Little kids. Gotta love em!

You would NOT BELIEVE how into ward conference the good folks of Santa
Ana 11 get. Yowzah. Holy Hannah. It's crazy! So for their choir they
made all the woman matching sashes, the bought all the men in the
choir plus the bishopric matching ties and handkerchiefs. Oh then they
handed  out roses for all the men from the stake, bishopric, and choir
to pin to their suit jackets. It was intense. The programs were on
baptismal paper too.

It was my half birthday on Sunday. I received no happy half birthday anythings.
;) I'm just kidding, sheesh. Don't lose your head.

Oh and the reason why Pday is on Wednesday is because we went
to the  t e m p l e !
It was wonderful. I enjoyed every second of it. The temple is awesome!
Go to the temple everyday, all day. I wish we got to go more. It was
great! The spirit is so amazing in the temple. And you learn so much,
and re learn so much! It is such a great opportunity that we have,
especially in Utah to be able to go to the temple pretty much whenever
we want. It really is the house of God.

Yeah. So it was good.

Also as I was reading my emails just now in the church across from the
temple, who should I spot in the gym? Non other but Elder Kyler
Clemets! Oh yeah. Said hi. We still cool. Shoulda got a picture. What
was I thinking. Pull yourself together Sister May. Sheesh! Next time.
I have faith that there will be a next time.

Anyways. Such was my week. I love you guys!!

Crazy Cars

My week was crazy. But interesting.

So Tuesday my companion and I were biking to an appointment and she
got HIT BY A CAR. Was knocked off her bike and everything. Good thing
she was wearing a helmet or it would've been pretty bad. But luckily
she was okay for the most part just really bruised and sore and in pain
and stuff.  So then that night we called up the line and got us a car
secured for the next day or so because obviously she couldn't bike. So
we got a car. She is blue and I named her Petunia. She smelled like
Elders gym shoes. We'll fix that real soon.

Yep. we drove into Anaheim to go to the doctor. He gave her
some serious pills and told her not to ride her bike anymore. Guess we
are in the car from now on. Can't say I'm disappointed. You have so much
more time in your day with a car and you don't get so nasty and
sweaty. And now we get to jam to some sweet church music. Yep. So I
drive us around because Hermana Noel is also not allowed to drive
while she is taking her meds.

Good times.

Fourth of July was fine I guess. Just like any other day in the
mission except for the night time. There were crazy fireworks all over
the sky. Latinos here are crazy about their fireworks. And Santa Ana
is full of Latinos. It was a good show. Beat that New York.

Also went on exchanges that night. I went up to Fullerton with Sister
Nnah. It was a good time. I ate so much food that day. But I got pizza
which I haven't had in forever and there's a member that owns a pan
dulce shop so we get it for free...couldn't help ourselves. Also those
sisters have a Mini Cooper so that was fun to drive around in all day.
Ran into some crazy white high teenagers bashing on Mormons. That was
funny.

We have a cool investigator Jaime. We've been working super hard to
get him ready to be baptized Sunday. Hopefully if everything goes
to plan it will be a success! I'm excited he is pretty cool.  We got
six baptismal dates this week! So that was exciting for us! Number one
in the zone. Get on our level!!

Favorite scripture of this week, you ask? Why, it's Alma 7:24 Me
gusta. I love the scriptures. Good stuff.

The zoo was fun... Farm animals are rare to come by here so it's
always a treat for you to see a cow and some chickens. Don't worry, they
had camels and monkeys too. It was fun though. All about the attitude
am I right?

Well.  That was my week. Crazy California. Well I'm having a good
time, it's cool to be able to see peoples lives change because of the
gospel. You can just see how happy the gospel really can make people.
That's how you know it's true. I get happier every time I decide to be
a little bit better at following Christ's example.

Love you guys. Have a great safe week! Don't get hit by any cars. It's
not so fun as it sounds.

Love Hermana May

Anti's

This week has been good. Strangely long again but what can you do. Um
we did lots of finding yet again. Pretty good at diving straight to
doctrine at doors now so that's what's up.

Had a crazy run in with a crazy former investigator this week. Anti
Mormons. Gotta love em. So we show up and he asked us what happened to
the boy missionaries so we tell them that we are the missionaries in
the area now. So then he grabs a bible and pulls out a scripture in
Corinthians that woman needed to cover their head when they preach and
pray or we were a disgrace to our husbands or God or something like
that.  Somewhere in Corinthians 11 I think... So he wasn't going to
take anything we said seriously because we weren't wearing veils. Then he pulls out all sort of
propaganda and keeps trying to trip us up. Tried to end that lesson
like five times before it actually happened. Sheesh. Man, then he kept
making fun of us. But it's all good. I was just trying not laugh the
whole lesson.

Also ran into a guy who told us we needed to pick ourselves up a
bible when we tried to give him a card about Christ.... I find it's
best to just smile and act dumb. Really works.

After ward choir we had a crazy lesson with one of our investigators.
We had two members planned to be in the lesson with us. The next thing
you know members kept piling in the door one after another. It was
like a clown car. Pretty soon we had eight members sitting in our lesson.
I had to pray for the strength not to laugh. We all sat in a circle
and they all shared their different opinions about the word of
wisdom... We will probably have to go back and clarify a few points.
But hey, now he has some friends in the ward.

Almost biked 28 miles in one day this week. But the mission office had
pity on us and gave us a loser cruiser to drive to our dinner in
Irvine. That was nice of them. It was a nice van too. I'd totally
drive that sucker in my future. So instead we only had to bike 12
miles.

But then the next day Hermana Noel got sick. So I chilled in the apartment
and studied and studied some more, painted my nails, watched Mormon
messages, cleaned, studied again. The missionary usual.

Our new mission president came in this week. He seems nice. Got some
pretty sweet mission stories from back in the day. His wife is nice
too. We had a meeting with him this week. So that was fun. Probably
already his favorite missionary. Whateva.

Found a Harry Potter wand this week. That was neat.

Nothing else happened. But I'm going to the zoo today. Woot woot.

Anywhoo have a good day and week and stuff and be happy!
